The Bodhi Garden operates on the principle of 'dana', which is the Buddhist word for 'generosity' or 'support'. Meditation instruction is free. No charge is made to meditators, unless there are direct costs to the centre, e.g. for retreats, a visiting teacher's travel and accomodation expenses. However, there are 'suggested donations' for the Bodhi Garden's weekly programme, which helps to cover some of the centre's costs.
If you attend the centre regularly, please consider joining the Supporters' Scheme. This formalises your 'dana' to the centre by direct debit. We suggest an amount of £12 per month, which is only £2.77 per week! However, you can offer any amount, greater or smaller.
The Supporters' Scheme is is the single most important way you can support this charity.
To join the scheme, please pick up a Supporters' Scheme leaflet at the centre.
For details on donating by cheque, please see below.
The Bodhi Garden relies on the generosity of others for its existence. It is only by the act of giving on the part of those who derive benefit from the centre that its continuation is made possible. Thank you for all your support.
