Shakyamuni Buddha - Bodhi Garden Buddhist Meditation & Dharma Centre BrightonThe Bodhi Garden is a non-denominational Buddhist meditation centre in Brighton. It is a dedicated space for anyone drawn to Buddhist teachings and meditation practice, and is an important part of Brighton's thriving Buddhist community.

This is a unique, non-denominational Dharma centre, which operates as an umbrella space for several Buddhist groups in Brighton, including those from the Theravadin, Tibetan and Zen traditions.

The Bodhi Garden is in the Lanes area of Brighton - the oldest quarter of the city - and also has strong connections with several established Buddhist centres and groups, both nationally and internationally.

Bodhi Garden means, literally, 'garden of awakening'. It is for anyone drawn to Buddhist teachings, meditation practice, and Dharma enquiry. The centre operates on the principle of 'dana', meaning that it relies on the support and generosity of others for its existence.

The Bodhi Garden was established by the English Buddhist Monastery Trust, a charity (no. 1088804) whose object is the support the study and practice of the Buddhist way of life, and whose ethos is one of non-sectarianism.
